2 Days In The Berber Villages

Your adventure begins in Marrakech with a scenic 90-minute drive south into the Atlas Mountains. Upon arrival in Imlil, the gateway to Toubkal National Park, you’ll meet your local guide who will accompany you throughout the trek. From here, set off into the heart of the park, a protected reserve spanning nearly 380 square kilometres. The landscape is breath-taking – snow-dusted peaks, rugged valleys, and tiny villages perched on terraced hillsides.

As you walk, you’ll pass through traditional Berber hamlets where life continues much as it has for centuries. The afternoon trek takes you through more picturesque Berber villages such as Armed and Achain, where you can glimpse daily routines rooted in centuries-old traditions. After 4–5 hours of walking, the trek concludes back at Imlil, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you to Marrakech. Back in the city, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the vibrant medina or simply relax after your mountain adventure.
