3 Days To Climb Toubkal

Your adventure begins with a morning transfer from Marrakech to the picturesque Imlil Valley, sitting at 1,740 meters. This small mountain village is the gateway to the High Atlas and the starting point of your trek. After meeting your guide and mule team, you’ll set off on a 6-hour trek into the scenic Azzadene Valley. The route crosses the Tizi N’Mzik Pass (2,450 meters), where you’ll pause for lunch surrounded by sweeping views of dramatic valleys and jagged peaks. From here, the trail winds down toward Azib n’Tansoult, near the cascading Ighouliden Waterfalls. The day ends with a hearty dinner and overnight stay at a mountain refuge (2,400 meters), offering a rustic yet cozy experience of trekking life.

After breakfast, the journey continues with one of the most rewarding days of the trek. The route climbs steadily from the Azzadene Valley toward the high Aguelzim Pass (3,680 meters). This challenging ascent is balanced by incredible panoramas of the Atlas Mountains, making every step worthwhile. Lunch is served in view of the rugged peaks before continuing on to the Toubkal Refuge, also known as the Neltner Hut (3,207 meters). Here, you’ll join fellow trekkers sharing stories and experiences before preparing for the big climb ahead. Accommodation is in a shared bunk room, though private options may be arranged.

The highlight of your Morocco adventure tour comes today with an early-morning ascent of Mount Toubkal (4,167 meters), the highest peak in North Africa. The climb is demanding, but the reward is extraordinary: sweeping views across the Atlas Mountains, down to the Marrakech Plain, and even out toward the Sahara Desert. After enjoying the vistas from the summit, you’ll descend along familiar paths back to Imlil. This is a long day of trekking, averaging 8–9 hours, with a 900-meter climb and nearly 2,500 meters of descent. From Imlil, you’ll transfer back to Marrakech, usually arriving by late afternoon around 5:00 p.m.
