Your adventure begins with a transfer from Marrakech to the mountain village of Imlil (1,740 meters), the gateway to Toubkal National Park. Here, you’ll meet your mule team and guide before starting a gentle but steady climb toward the Tizi Tamatert Pass (2,279 meters). As you ascend, enjoy sweeping views of the Imlil and Imnane valleys, dotted with terraced fields, walnut groves, and apple orchards. After a two-hour hike, descend into the valley and continue toward Tacheddirt (2,314 meters), one of the largest and oldest Berber villages in the region. After breakfast, begin your descent through the lush Ourika Valley, one of the most scenic regions of the Atlas. The trail passes terraced fields, orchards, and stone-built hamlets such as Anfli and Tadrart, where villagers live much as their ancestors did. If you’re lucky, you may even spot the endangered Barbary macaques that inhabit this area.
