This wonderful Morocco trip will take us to traditional Berber villages where you can spend time with the local communities, and gain insight into their customs, culture and way of life. Explore terraced fields of corn and barley and observe daily routines that have changed very little for hundreds of years.

Day 1:

Marrakech – Imi-Oughlad – Tizi n’Lbour – Ousrtk

Depart Marrakech early and drive south through the Moulay Brahim Gorge and into the high valleys of the Atlas Mountains. Arriving in Imi-Oughlad (1,450m), you’ll meet your friendly Berber muleteer team before starting a gentle acclimatization hike. Along mule tracks, you’ll pass cornfields and fragrant juniper woods before reaching Tizi n’Lbour (1,500m) for sweeping views over Imi-Oughlad villages and the Imnane Valley. After a scenic picnic lunch at Tizi Nimouahden, continue trekking to the terraced red clay village of Ousrtk (2,750m). Overnight in a guesthouse or bivouac.

Day 2:

Ousrtk – Tizi n’Nozdoud – Oukaimeden

After breakfast, walk through walnut groves and climb towards Tizi n’Nozdoud (2,350m). The route is gentle and rewarding, leading you to Oukaimeden, a peaceful mountain town known for its landscapes and archaeological sites. Enjoy lunch surrounded by alpine scenery before exploring local houses and learning about the area’s history. Overnight in Oukaimeden in a guesthouse or bivouac.

Day 3:

Oukaimeden – Tizi n’Noaattar – Timichi

Today’s hike begins with a steady descent through walnut and barley fields, where you’ll meet local farmers and herders. Crossing Tizi n’Noaattar, the path winds through juniper trees before reaching a small spring for lunch. Continue on foot to the Ourika Valley and the welcoming village of Iabasn (2,220m). Overnight in a traditional guesthouse.

Day 4:

Iabasn – Tizi n’Tachdert – Tachdert – Imlil

Your final day of trekking takes you through Tizi n’Tachdert (3,330m), offering panoramic views of the Ourika Valley and beyond. Descend into the village of Tachdert, where you’ll enjoy lunch in a stunning mountain setting. Afterward, transfer back to Marrakech, or extend your stay with an extra night in Imlil Valley to reflect on your unforgettable Morocco adventure tour.
